Chiropractic

Personalised care focused on musculoskeletal health, spinal function and movement. Our chiropractor Elijah spends one-on-one time with every client, helping you move more comfortably and function better.

At Feel Amazing Wellness Centre in Chatswood, our chiropractic care focuses on understanding your individual symptoms, movement patterns and musculoskeletal health. Elijah spends dedicated one-on-one time with every client in a private treatment room, providing a thorough and personalised approach to care. The aim is not simply short-term relief, but helping you move more comfortably, function better and feel more at ease in your body.

Chiropractic is one of the most widely recognised forms of manual healthcare in Australia. Chiropractors are university-trained, AHPRA-registered practitioners who assess and manage conditions related to the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine.

Why do people see a chiropractor?

Many people seek chiropractic care after an injury or accident, while others find that regular treatment may help manage the impact of daily activities on their body. Common reasons people book with us include:

Sometimes discomfort develops gradually rather than from one obvious injury. You may notice increasing stiffness, tension, reduced movement or simply feel that your body is not functioning as comfortably as it normally does. A chiropractic assessment can help identify contributing musculoskeletal factors and guide the most appropriate treatment approach.

What happens at your first appointment

Your initial consultation with Elijah is 45 minutes. This allows time to:

  1. Discuss your health history - Elijah will ask about your current concerns, past injuries, medical history, daily activities and what you are hoping to achieve from treatment.

  2. Physical assessment - a thorough examination of your posture, spinal function, range of movement and any areas of concern.

  3. Explanation of findings - Elijah will explain what he has found, discuss a recommended approach and answer any questions you have before treatment begins.

  4. Treatment - if appropriate on the day, your first session will include hands-on treatment tailored to your individual needs.

You will leave your first appointment with a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to your symptoms, the treatment options available, and recommendations for how to move forward based on your individual needs and goals.

Follow-up appointments

Follow-up consultations are 30 minutes, giving Elijah focused time to assess your progress, adjust your treatment and address any changes since your last visit. Extended 45-minute follow-up consultations are available if needed.

Every appointment at Feel Amazing is one-on-one in a private treatment room. We do not use open treatment areas or rapid turnover appointments. Your consultation time is focused on understanding your needs, providing hands-on care, and allowing space for questions and ongoing management.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a manual technique used to improve movement and function within a joint, most commonly in the spine. Some adjustments involve a quick, controlled movement, while others use slower or lower-force techniques depending on the individual and the area being treated.

Elijah uses a combination of approaches tailored to each client, which may include:

Elijah will discuss the techniques he recommends for you and will always explain what he is doing before he does it.

What can chiropractic care help with?

Chiropractic care at Feel Amazing may help with the management of:

Chiropractic care focuses on musculoskeletal assessment and management. If Elijah identifies concerns that would be better managed by another healthcare provider, he will guide you towards the most appropriate support or referral pathway.

Chiropractic care during pregnancy

Elijah has experience providing chiropractic care throughout pregnancy and during the postnatal period. Pregnancy brings significant postural changes as the body adapts, and chiropractic care may help with managing the musculoskeletal discomfort that can accompany these changes.

Elijah co-manages care with other practitioners during pregnancy and postnatal recovery. At Feel Amazing, we offer a team approach to pregnancy care including massage, acupuncture and naturopathy.

What to expect after your session

How chiropractic works with our other services

At Feel Amazing, we work as a multidisciplinary team and can coordinate care across services where appropriate for your individual situation.

Chiropractic and massage - Massage may help reduce muscle tension and improve comfort before or after chiropractic treatment. Some clients choose to combine both as part of their ongoing care. Learn more about remedial massage.

Chiropractic and dry needling - Elijah can provide dry needling as part of his chiropractic sessions to target trigger points and muscle tension before adjustment. Dry needling can also be added to massage sessions with our massage therapists. Learn more about dry needling.

Chiropractic and naturopathy - Our naturopath can provide guidance on anti-inflammatory support, supplements and lifestyle factors that may support your musculoskeletal health. Learn more about naturopathy.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

What does a chiropractor do?

A chiropractor assesses and manages conditions related to the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine. Treatment may involve hands-on techniques such as spinal adjustments, gentle mobilisation, soft tissue work and exercise-based rehabilitation to help improve movement, comfort and overall musculoskeletal function.

Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt or make a cracking sound?

Most people find chiropractic treatment comfortable. Some manual adjustments create a popping or cracking sound, which is caused by gas releasing from the joint fluid as the joint moves. It is harmless and does not mean anything is 'breaking' or being forced out of place. If you prefer a gentler approach, Elijah can use slower, lower-force techniques alongside soft tissue treatment where appropriate.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on your condition, how long it has been present and how your body responds to treatment. Elijah will discuss a recommended treatment plan after your initial assessment. Some people feel significant improvement after one or two sessions, while longer-standing concerns may take more time.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No referral is needed. You can book directly online or by phone.

Can I see a chiropractor while pregnant?

Yes. Elijah has experience providing chiropractic care during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Treatment is adapted to be safe and comfortable at every stage.

Should I get a massage before or after my chiropractic session?

Both can work well. Some clients prefer massage beforehand to help reduce muscle tension and improve comfort during treatment. Others prefer massage afterwards for additional muscle release and relaxation. Chat to Elijah or your massage therapist about what might suit you best.

Can I claim chiropractic on my health fund?

Yes. Chiropractic is a registered health profession and eligible for health fund rebates. We have HICAPS available for on-the-spot claiming. Bring your health fund card and you only pay the gap.

How is chiropractic different from physiotherapy?

Both professions assess and manage musculoskeletal conditions, though treatment approaches may differ depending on the practitioner and the individual situation. Chiropractic care often involves hands-on joint and soft tissue techniques alongside movement and rehabilitation advice, while physiotherapy may place greater emphasis on exercise-based rehabilitation. In some cases, both approaches can work well together.

How is chiropractic different from massage?

Massage focuses primarily on muscles and soft tissues, while chiropractic care also addresses joint movement and musculoskeletal function. Many clients find the two approaches work well together.
